ABOUT ME

Let's start with the easy stuff.  I'm Kath Young, and I'm a freelance digital marketer and copywriter from Manchester, UK.  I work with digital agencies and businesses who need plug-in marketing support and/or advice.  Before going freelance I worked for ten years in sales and marketing roles across a range of sectors, private and public, from manufacturing and FMCG to education and charitable organisations.  Feel free to check out my CV, if you're that way inclined.

 

I have an MSc in Digital Marketing and got a 1st, which I was pretty pleased about.  Shortly after, I was also promoted to Head of Marketing at the Business and Law School at Manchester Metropolitan University. Brilliant!  I had a great time there and built an amazing full-service in-house marketing team, I learnt bucketfuls and really loved my job.

 

The only niggle I had, was my life-long dream - to travel and sail around the world.  So long story short, but in 2018 I did just that.  I sold-up, shipped out (literally, I bought a boat) and now I'm working freelance and sailing around the world as I do it.  You can find out more about the sailing here, but ultimately I work hard as a freelancer to keep both dreams alive.  I pride myself on solving problems, achieving results and securing repeat business from happy clients.
